Here's my opinion: I can imagine the US government enacting tougher licensing requirements for firearms ownership and participating in some sort of international gun registry. There have been many debates about these types of changes in the House and Senate in the past. However, I cannot imagine our government trying to confiscate “unauthorized” firearms or banning semi-automatic weapons. These actions would almost certainly trigger a revolution.
